3308 - 1/250 scale paper kit of the "Schaarhörn", ordered in 1907 at the shipyard of Janssen & Schmilinski by the Senate of Hamburg, was launched in August of 1908.
During the First World War this ship served as minesweeper and auxiliary outpost while the German Navy in World War II deployed it as sonar boat.
At the end of the war it helped the evacuation of refugees trapped in the eastern territories. Subsequently, in 1971, it was disarmed and extensively renovated, and has since been one of the most popular museum ships operating in the port of Hamburg.
